CMOR ...

Was founded in 2018 in Germany as an informal artivist group campaigning against colonialism, racism and other forms of discrimination mostly faced by African Refugees in Germany. The founding team composed of critical song writers, film artist, researchers and African indigenous culture champions.

The name “Clever minds of refugees” was born out of the marginalization, discrimination and brutality we faced daily as African Refugees in Germany and in solidarity with challenges faced by refugees across the world. It Inspires a clever mindset of developing hope to rebuild lives, escape bondage, racism, inspire generations and narrate the refugee story to the world.

(CMOR) later sought formal registration as an International NGO co-founded by African Refugees with lived experience in Germany and Young passionate African scholars’ bond by common interest of promoting the rights and interest of refugees’ through Anti-colonial approaches.

CMOR has been building up its representation and partnerships Globally and actively expanding its representation in all regions of Africa and in Europe, Currently, we have vibrant representation in Ghana, Kenya, Eswatini and Germany where it was founded.

Our Mission

To promote the interests and rights of refugees through charity support, relevant research, cultural and artistic projects and community sensitization.

Our Vision

To build a foundation that unites multiple perspectives of people with refugee background in Europe, to eradicate stereotypes towards refugees, to promote change where refugees will have equal rights to professional, educational, and other life opportunities regardless of their identity, and has the necessary information to enable them to realize their own dreams, define their own identity, and be who they want to be.

What we do...

Promote Community Sensitization

We position ourselves as an international platform for dialogue on refugees, exchange and sensitization through sports.  We hold the conviction that working directly with host communities is indispensable for partnerships and co-operation for sustainable and peaceful co-existence between refugees and host communities. We believe that is a sustainable pathway to mobilize support, develop and help refugees rebuild their lives.

Promote access to Education & Skills

With our lived experience of the challenges faced by refugees to gain formal employment or seek entrepreneunual opportunities in their host countries, we support access to education through donation of schooling materials, sharing information on relevant scholarships targeting refugees and forging partnership with private sector and technical institutions to support acquisition of technical skills.

Conduct Relevant Research

We conduct research on the emerging trends mostly on the refugee support, asylum and migration to promote and develop evidence-based and fact focussed program interventions.

Promote African Cultural and Artistic Performances

From our lived experience as refugee’s art was key element in developing positive-thinking, supporting our mental health, rebuilding our confidence and restoring our hope. We intend to extend this through promotion of cultural and Artistic performance. Refugees communities are rich in diversity of cultures, we appreciate this through our creative projects in producing films, music, spoken word, public speaking, dance and cultural exchange.
